CHSA is pleased to announce that as of Wednesday, July 29, 2009, the following CHSA Divisions have qualified for the 2009 CHSA Finals:

Short Stirrup Equitation Medal (17 Riders)
Short Stirrup Hunter (20 Horses)
Pre-Children’s Equitation Medal (21 Riders)
Pre-Children’s Hunter (20 Horses)
Children’s Equitation Medal (27 Riders)
Modified Adult Equitation Medal (14 riders)
Modified Adult Hunter (16 Horses)
Walk-Trot Hunt Seat Equitation (20 Riders)
Walk-Trot Hunt Seat Pleasure (20 Horses)
Junior Exhibitor English Pleasure(15 horses)
Adult English Pleasure(14 horses)
CHSA English Pleasure (12 Points Minimum) (13 horses)

Remember the rules for qualifying:

Equitation/Hunter/Pleasure – Top 20 horses who have 25 points or more will qualify except CHSA English Pleasure the Top 20 horses who 12 points or more will qualify.

CHSA Medal Classes – Top 30 riders who have 12 points or more. Once you reach 70 points you automatically qualify for the 2009 CHSA Finals for that Medal Class and you are exempt from showing in that Medal Class for the rest of the showing season.

For $250 you can sponsor a CHSA Finals Class and receive these benefits:

  • Your name/barn/company listed in the program
  • Present the awards and ribbons at the 2009 CHSA Finals for the class you choose to sponsor

Lead Rein Class added to 2009 CHSA Finals

As part of our continued attempt to improve the CHSA Finals we will be holding a demonstration Lead Rein class at this year’s CHSA Finals. Many trainers and parents have asked us to include Lead Rein in the CHSA Finals and after last year’s successful class, the CHSA Finals Committee enthusiastically agreed to offer the class again this year.

The Details:

  • The Lead Rein class will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 between Noon and 2pm.
  • In order to participate in the demonstration class the rider must be a CHSA Member prior to August nd, 2009.
  • Open to children under 7 who have not competed in any riding or driving classes other
    than Lead Rein.
  • We will take the first 20 Lead Rein entries. Entry Forms will be available at www.chsaonline.com on Wednesday, August 5th.
  • The Fee for the class will be $50, no other fees will be charged including no office fee.
  • Handlers will need to be in proper show clothes or dress clothes, please no jeans.
  • Specifications – Entries will be asked to trot individually.  The entries will be judged on the basis of elementary fundamentals of equitation excluding diagonals.

We hope all the CHSA Lead Rein members can join us at the 2009 CHSA Finals on Monday, August 24, 2009.
