We are looking forward to seeing all of the 2010 CHSA Finalists on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29 at the Westbrook Hunt Club. Saturday will start at 7:00 am with Class #102 – Schooling Class – Short Stirrup Hunter and Sunday will start at 7:30 am with Class #29 – Walk-Trot Hunt Seat Equitation.

You can pick up your numbers and several special gifts at the Secretary Tent which is located next to the Nutrena Tent near the show ring.  Hours for the Secretary are Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 pm, Saturday from 6:30 am – 5:00 pm, and Sunday from 7:00 am – 4:00pm.

Lead Rein, Low Training and Modified Children’s Hunter Demonstration Classes

For the last two years, by popular request, the Finals Committee offered a new section to the show – a Lead Rein Demonstration Class, which is being offered again this year.

The Low Training Jumper Division came very close to qualifying this year, and the CHSA Finals Committee wants to encourage further participation in this class
for the future.  The CHSA Finals Committee will offer a Low Training Jumper Demonstration Class this year, if ten (10) of the Low Training Jumper rider and horses with any number of points in the Low Training Jumper Division as of August 8, 2010, send in their entry forms for the 2010 CHSA Finals.

This class will take place Saturday, August 28, in the Westbrook Hunt Club Main Hunter Ring and the fences will be at the starter level – not to exceed 2’6”.

Modified Children’s Hunter

In keeping with the goal of our Finals to encourage and promote interest in the beginner and intermediate classes for members, this year the Finals Committee
decided to offer a 2’6” Modified Children’s Hunter class for our Children’s Equitation riders.

The Modified Children’s Hunter Division will only be open to riders who qualify for the 2010 CHSA Finals Children’s Equitation Medal and who show in the CHSA Children’s Equitation Medal at the 2010 CHSA Finals.  The Modified Children’s Hunter Division will run on Saturday, August 28th and the Children’s Equitation Medal will run on Sunday, August 29th.

Please join your fellow CHSA members at the 2010 CHSA Finals on Saturday, August 28, and Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Westbrook Hunt Club.

Please review the enclosed 2010 CHSA Finals Prize List and Rules of the Competition.

Next, fill out the following forms included in this mailing:

1. 2010 CHSA Finals Entry Form – Fill out the enclosed Entry Form. Don’t forget your belt and t-shirt size as we have a couple of special gifts for you!
2. Stall Reservation Form – Fill out the enclosed Stall Reservation Form including shavings and hay as needed.  All stalls must be paid in advance and forms are due by Friday, August 13, 2010. New date Wed, August 18, 2010.
3. Troiano Cookout Reservation Form – Fill out the enclosed Cookout Reservation form to reserve your meal for the Troiano Cookout to be held Saturday night from 6 – 8 pm. (Free for Exhibitors and Trainers, $5 for Friends and Family)
4. Tent Table Reservation Form – Reserve your table under the Nutrena Tent. Each table seats 8 people.  Tables under the tents can only be reserved in advance and are $150 each.
5. Support the 2010 CHSA Finals – Please consider becoming a CHSA Finals Medalist or purchase a Congratulatory Message in the Finals program.

In order to reserve your place in the 2010 CHSA Finals, your completed entry form along with a prepaid check must be mailed and received or postmarked by Friday, August 20, 2010.  All forms must be filled out in their entirety including all signatures and membership numbers.  If you are under the age of 18, the entry form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.  In order to participate in the CHSA Finals it is necessary that both rider and horse or pony be CHSA members.  Please include these membership numbers on the Entry Form.

If you are unable to attend or you have moved up a division, for example: from Walk-Trot to Short Stirrup, please send an email to chsa@chsaonline.com letting us know that you are unable to attend and we will offer your place to an alternate. If we do not receive your entry form by the deadline we will offer your place to an alternate.

There are no post entries for this event! No Exceptions!

Subway - Subway has generously donated subs for each rider and trainer.  Please go to the Nutrena Tent and claim your sub each day of the CHSA Finals.  Only one Subway sub per Exhibitor and Trainer. Your trainer must be listed on your entry form to be eligible.

Nutrena Ice Cream Social – Nutrena will be hosting an old fashion Ice Cream Social under the Nutrena Tent on Saturday and Sunday at approximately 3:00pm each day.  Ice cream will be served with your favorite toppings and whipped cream!

Troiano Cookout – New for 2010, Troiano Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Artioli Dodge are sponsoring an Exhibitors Cookout Saturday, August 28, 2010 under the big tent from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  All Exhibitors, Trainers, Friends and Family are invited to attend.  The Cookout is Free for Exhibitors and Trainers and $5 per person for Friends and Family.  We need you to fill out the attached form to reserve your meal at the Troiano Cookout.

Remember the rules for qualifying:

Equitation/Hunter/Pleasure - Top 20 horses who have 25 points or more will qualify except CHSA English Pleasure the Top 20 horses who 12 points or more will qualify.

CHSA Medal Classes - Top 30 riders who have 12 points or more. Once you reach 70 points you automatically qualify for the 2010 CHSA Finals for that Medal Class and you are exempt from showing in that Medal Class for the rest of the showing season.

The 2009 qualifying period runs from December 1, 2009 until Sunday, August 8, 2010. The last show to qualify will be the Mystic Valley Hunt Club Premiere Show held on Sunday, August 8, 2009.
